HO / Re: Bachmann's E-Z Command Control

Jim has given great information.

I can only add that I use the simple command controller to handle 2 DCC engines  and one DC plus I use this same command controller to handle my turnouts,  three right  44131 and four left 14130.  Very simple to program.  Headlights on the DCC engines  # 10 - no horn on my units though.

I do not know if the command controller will give you a horn i.e. if engine had this capability. Maybe Jim can confirm this.

HGC    good luck with your horn!

E-Z command as per Bob, good review then there is S F buff reply - and to check this Dynamis out go to:

"Model Railroad News" review August 08 issue pg. 74.  In fact the "Model Railroad News" is running several issues on DCC systems, Part 3 in the August issue also.

Report back on your choice or progress - Good luck.

Hunt's advice is very good.

I just went out and purchased.  Finding out now - there are many good differences.

Follow his advice and if you can have some hands on in a couple different locations.

HO / 44 tonner

I intend to purchase a GE 44 Ton Diesel Switcher.

http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/products.php?act=viewProd&productId=68

BUT fellow club member said purchase two because the pickup needs two on this layout because the 44 may stop for reasons: pick-up not as effective.

If you have a GE 44 Tonner; is this a problem?  Or is this member just having a problem?

My reply again would be the E-Z Command; have the Dynamis but for me the Command works best.

Hunt's above comment is right on.

I use 6 turnout and 2 DCC engines and one DC engine at the same time.

Caveat running small loop within a larger loop and several turnouts to work tracks.

Command DCC powered system - all works grand.

Try with what you have before you buy more power.

HO / Re: Command and Dynamis at the same time?
June 21, 2008, 11:27:03 PM
Plugged into track without either power [wall wart} plugged in then only then plugged in the Dynamis and it gave a short error pulled the track wire from the command and short went away.  So the system has a fail safe build in.   One has to unplug from track before plugging in the other into the track.  There: as simple as that.

Dynamis is really not as easy to program as the Command - still learning here.

HO / Command and Dynamis at the same time?
June 21, 2008, 12:57:05 PM
Mr. Bach-man,  I ask this question knowing I could try it myself but not wanting to have to send in for possible repair and increase the profit of Fed-EX or UPS.  Much easier to ask on this board.

Can I plug in E-Z Command on one side of the power track and plug in the Dynamis on the other side then have them both on at the same time? [using the same code for all units]

I would think it would be OK to have them both plugged in on either side of the power track but only one on at a time.

p.s. need a discussion board for DCC  - my opinion w/ F.A.Q.s.

HO / Re: DC with the Dynamis?
June 20, 2008, 09:05:01 PM
Thanks for the replies.  The E-Z Command, button 10 has been assigned for DC.  The Dynamis does not mention in the instruction booklet about being able to run a DC engine.  I have tried several things but maybe best to ask Mr. Bachmann.

I do believe that Pacific Northern is correct

HO / DC with the Dynamis?
June 20, 2008, 02:50:12 PM
Mr. Bachmann: Can DC engine run on Dynamis control track and if so how?

I have been spoiled using both an old DC and DCC engines on/with the E-Z Command.
