General Discussion / Cleaning pads
June 30, 2020, 01:57:19 AM
Where might I buy the cleaning pads for Bachmann's track cleaning car? I just bought a brand new n scale track cleaning 50' plug door box car Union Pacific, and it didn't come with pads, not one.

Frustrating purchasing products that need other products to work.

Cleaning pads for my cleaner car? Where might I buy them, Mr. Bachmann?

General Discussion / Bus line
May 03, 2020, 03:10:23 AM
Bus line starts with "to track" lines.

A cluster of turnouts represented by a double cross-over. Is there any method to the madness of tying in 4 feeders inches apart?

I want to feed off my bus at the cluster double-crossover (4 feeds), at a turnout across the oval, and to the furthered side of the next oval over, my layout essentially 2 double ovals connected to each other.

Can do?

General Discussion / Boss man needed:

This is bachmann rolling stock. I dropped this, and for whatever reason, I can't put humpty back together again. Perhaps I'm missing a piece.

What kind of truck am I looking to purchase, gentlemen?

General Discussion / Everything Bachmann EZ track.

Will a 240v-1.5A power source be enough to power 8 Bachmann remote turnouts?

Everything Bachmann - EZ Command, EZ track, Bachmann Locomotive.

General Discussion / Headlamp issue?
April 06, 2020, 05:00:26 AM
A novice to the hobby, I have up and running an EZ Command system. I purchased an EZ track set that came with everything to get started, including the EZ Command module with 2 locomotives (no sound).

I've notice that when one of the locomotive's derails, the headlight flickers. If I have it solidly on the track, there's no light.

This happens for both locomotives. A QUESTION, PLEASE: Do I have to use the EZ Command to program the headlamp to work? Otherwise, what's happening? Why do the headlights flicker when the locomotive derails and as I try to re-rail it, but when it's running on the track - nothing.

HELP, if you can, please.

The walk around EZ Command companion - what happened?

I've searched EVERYWHERE and they're sold out. They sell the connector pieces - tons of them. Apparently, however, they've discontinued the item that a LOT PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR.

Seemingly, the ONLY Bachmann recommended way to expand the system.

Please, Bachmann! Bring back the EZ Command walk-around companion!

General Discussion / Loksound equipped
April 02, 2020, 03:38:59 AM
Do locomotives that are "dcc/loksound equipped" means the sound is ready to go? Do I need another device for sound? Where does the sound broadcast from - the locomotive?  I'm about to purchase a "DCC sound value Econami equipped" locomotive for my Bachman EZ COMMAND module on EZ track. Will I have everything I need to hear sound, or must I purchase a sound box or something? All help with these various "sound equipped" locomotives is greatly appreciated.

General Discussion / Why the magnet?
April 07, 2018, 07:10:44 PM
My Golden Spikes set came with an inch-square magnet in a package.

I thumbed through the material that came with the set, but I don't see the magnet addressed.

What's the magnet for?

General Discussion / Powering the remote turnouts.
March 26, 2018, 04:06:19 PM
The Bachmann remote-turnouts are wired in green with a plug, that I assume plugs into the remote. Then there a red double-wire with a plug on one side and horseshoe terminals on the other end, that I've assumed plug into the other side of the remote with the horseshoe terminals screwed into a power source.

Exactly, what power-source should I purchase to power 6 turnouts that I have on my layout? And do I just stack those horseshoe terminals from each turnout?

Sorry for the stupid questions, but you'll need to explain it to me like I'm a 6-year old. A picture would even be better.  ;D

General Discussion / Insulated joint and gaps
March 17, 2018, 07:02:04 PM
I'm guessing no difference in concept, but that "insulated joints" are where tracks are joined with plastic instead of metal, and gaps are actual "gaps" cut into the track.

Close?

And further more, if "frogs" need gaps and/or insulated joints around them (no matter what the case), why don't manufacturers already make them with gaps?

General Discussion / bus wiring
March 16, 2018, 02:53:55 PM

I'm starting to understand the concepts of gaps and blocks. In terms of bus wiring, I'm almost there. Are the ends of these "DCC BUS" lines simply capped off? and/or can they be used as the last feed?

Thanks.

General Discussion / About this layout
March 12, 2018, 05:11:49 PM
Brand new. I apologize in advance if my questions are really stupid.

I'm going to start off with something small and simple. I'm looking at this set-up. Please advise if you can, what does it mean by "blocks". I'll have an EZ Command system, exactly what is it that I have to do at those areas marked "G" at the wyes?

Will the Golden Spike ready-to-run N-scale train with DCC command have all the accessories (power) needed to operate this track once the track-pack and extra tracks are added? If not what else will I need?

What is the purpose of having 4 "11.25" radius terminal" at those spots specified?

Any help is much appreciated.

General Discussion / 2 EZ Commands?
March 10, 2018, 03:40:54 PM
Can 2 EZ command units be hooked up to the same track so that 2 engineers can play at the same time? One operator per engine for example.
