well, I love the design too. but the red track going across that curve might be tricky, are you and your friend Todd going to build an Pier set going up and over them or just custom build a crossing for that? other than that it looks like a great track plan

Hello,

I am in the process of making a prototype Gauge 1 thomas with bachmann thomas large scale. anyway, I am looking into tracks, but I want to go with bachmann, but when I found Marklin I gauge then I started thinking, are they different in size? if any one knows, please let me know.

thank you

HO / My 2-6-2 Prarie, can you fix it?
April 19, 2010, 06:40:19 PM
Dear Mr. Bachmann,

I have a fine 2-6-2 Union Pacific prarie locomotive here and two things, the rod holding up the right piston had broke, so I need help there and the last time it was repaired or replaced was in 2004, so I don't know what to do here, The coupler on the tender I could fix easily, and the plastic wheels I replaces with Nickel silver wheels of your brand. so would your company accept myself delivering it to Bachmann Service and see what you guys can do, besides thats all that needs done (I think) but I don't want to spend $100 on a new one sir, I don't have that money, only for repairs or replacement. if you would do that you would make me the happiest young man in Idaho.

sorry if this is a bother to you,

Alex

and another point (well 3) is that some of the engines are made up and others are based off of real engines, w/ some major adjustments like: there is an A4 (such a copy off of spencer) WITH OUT A TENDER!!!! where does the coal and water go? another point is that they don't even travel on real railway tracks, they travel on ( what look like to me ) weird iron girders. and my last point is why is it called chuggington when most of the abominations are diesels?

right there, thats what I absolutely hate about it, its just made up, stupid stuff like the track and the adjustments. I am glad someone sees what I mean. not exactly myself but to others who hate it too

O, don't mention that no good, dirty rotten, embarrasment of a TV show on any website I look at, I hate that tv show sooooo much, little kids enjoy but to me it's just pointless, I'll be surprised if it is a big hit in the united states. Up with Thomas, no matter what  type it is. again I absolutely HATE that TV show. pointless is what I call It.

I don't care what the crane is like, just as long as I can have a Sodor BreakDown crane, trust me that won't be cheap.

I think you can buy some conductive lube from bachmann and put some on tobys wheels, and clean the tracks thouroughly, electrical contact might be the problem, as I did.

hope this helps

well, in that situation, I would've re-wired the wires to the circut board with a low temp soldering tool, like the one I bought from Radio Shack, and it worked, but did you watch Bachmanns video on how to maintain your locomotive? the link is right here

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtW8Gx_WxL4

It is great for all HO locomotives like thomas and his friends, you might have over lubricated the locomotive and try and use one type of track, like steel alloy is alright, but nickel silver is better, but I have experince of putting the two together, it dirtied the track and wheels easily.

hope this helps.

Hello there,

I am Alex Wittman and I am planning to buy Thomas in large scale, but before I do, I would like to inform that I will be doing some modifications, like thomas' wheels, the replacment of the blind wheel and placing a drive on it and to help that out a trace out the side rod then I will seperate them and make into four seperate rods so thomas can turn the corners. that's for the wheels.

Next is the face, by using the technuiqes shown in this video,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl-GtCtj7bw

I will  create/ or attempt to create the original thomas face from the model series, by the use of sculpting tools and sculpy 3, plus scatch building some Eye Guides for the clearence of thomas' eyes. but if so, I might put in two servos and structual pieces to create the eye motions found only in the model series.

now this sounds expensive, but I plan on reaching this goal if it takes me one hundred years.

I would be very pleased if anyone gives me helpful tips on any of this and the wheel configuration.

Thank You for any help,

Alex W.

Thomas & Friends / Re: Custom Loco Faceplates
April 01, 2010, 12:00:16 PM
well I have to say they are pretty impressive and I am planning to do the same thing, but I will buy only One faceplate and sculpy three, and some plastic mouldings and plastic liquid so I can place the sculpy on over the eyes or mouth area for the different expressions and eyebrow expression. but thats my plan, looks like your plan worked for you. nice job mate.

Thomas & Friends / Re: Thomas G scale compatability

Well considering it's G scale, Any G scale brand Track will fit thomas annie clarabel percy and the two troublesome trucks. besides, Thomas is probably a better on a less sharper radius track. hope this helps

I'm planning to make an HO scale Ivor engine, but not powered, I might make my own american stop-motion series with him. same locations, new locations, foriegn countries, heck maybe new people or freight cars. but it's still being planned.

I'll probably post pics of Ivors Build

Thomas & Friends / Re: Bachmann Knapford Station Kit?
February 27, 2010, 03:30:12 PM
well, If Knapford station is going to be a kit, I'm guessing that track will be sold separately, with the use of bachmann's Nickel-silver or steel-alloy track.

but I can't wait to see the kit and how it is built up, for company purposes, besides, if I make an Island of Sodor, I will probably squish all the structures on a 4X8 ply board.

but all in all, Knapford will probably look great.
