Title: Wisconsin Central GP38-2 mistake?
Post by: MAGER on August 27, 2012, 04:16:54 PM
I've seen several pictures of the Bachmann Wisconsin Central GP38-2. In the pictures, the words on one side of the locomotive state "Central Wisconsin." Are these pre-production pictures? Or prototypical? Does anyone have one of these to confirm this mistake?

Dear Mager.
It was a paint sample mistake, and should be corrected in production.
Have fun!

I have two Bachmann GP38-2 locos, purchased about May 20 2012,  and both are lettered Wisconsin Central on one side and Central Wisconsin on the other side.  I just noticed it about a week ago -- strange to say.  Will Bachmann replace all GP38-2 locos with the error in lettering?

With the decales on one side reversed you can get decal kits for WC and put them on or send in the shell and they will fix it.

You never know, a collector might find the engine more valuable with the misprint!!  :o

wjstix, I was thinking the same thing - especially if everyone else sends theirs in for replacement! Just look at the "Inverted Jenny" 24-cent stamp.  ;)
