HO / Spectrum DC: second choice?
March 28, 2016, 01:56:17 PM
Is there any chance that bachmann might bring back standard DC locomotives to their spectrum line. I quit buying their spectrum locomotives when they began selling only DCC on board.

March 08, 2016, 04:53:49 PM
i am thinking of getting some of Bachmann's new 85' mainline series streamline passenger cars. are they worth the money? they sure look nice. am thinking of getting one of the baggage-lounge cars, couple of the large window coaches and a diner car for my HO scale layout the Leelanau County Rwy.

HO / DCC Spectrum units: can DCC be removed?
August 20, 2012, 05:56:03 PM
with the spectrum locomotives like 44 tonner, 70 tonner and 45 tonner being equipped with DCC, is it possible to remove the DCC compenents from the GE locomotive models easily? the reason i am asking is my locomotives are all DC models.

Amazingly on March 26th, my girlfriend and i found two very rare finds at the model railroad train flea market in Mount Pleasant, Michigan at Central Michigan University. We found two Plasticville house kits from the 1960's with all of the parts in the box. The two house kits we got were the split level home and the colonial home. Believe it or not each of those two homes only cost $5.00 each.

HO / Jackson Sharp excursion cars
August 02, 2009, 03:21:06 PM
does anyone know if there are any jackson sharp open sided excursion cars in real life that have been preserved by a museum or see service on a tourist railroad? bachmann's jackson sharp open sided excursion cars look like dead ringers for the open sided excursion cars used by Cedar Point's 3 foot gauge Cedar Point & Lake Erie Railroad. I would like to get 4 or 5 of bachman's open side excursion cars for my HO scale Leelanau County Railway and was just curious if these kind of excursion cars see any excursion service on standard gauge railroads

HO / Bachmann richmond 4-4-0 decoder can be unplugged?
October 08, 2008, 11:14:43 AM
Can bachmann's richmond 4-4-0 have its DCC decoder unplugged so it can run on DC. If it can be unplugged is there much involved with unplugging the decoder?

i would love to buy one of bachmann spectrum's 4-4-0's but would love to remove the DCC board so it could run with my other DC equipped steam and diesel locomotives. if i removed the DCC board would their 4-4-0 run just fine? if its possible to remove the board is it possible to remove it?

HO / Re: russian 2-10-0
April 28, 2007, 11:24:15 AM
lucas, from the train videos i have seen i can tell you that the most passenger cars or freight cars i have seen russian decapod 2-10-0's pull is 8 to 9 cars. the strasburg railroad's 2-10-0 #90 pulls up to 8 or 9 80 foot passenger cars.

I am having trouble putting a bell on my spectrum 2-10-0. it runs very well but can not figure out what face plate and bell to use on it. if i use the plate that has the two holes for headlight i can not use either bell. but if i use the plate thta has hole on top for the bell with slanted base i cna not use a headlight. what do i do? Bachmann needs to do better on their instruction sheets. either the diagrams are wya too small to make out whata  part is or it does not show exactly how to place them. worse comes to worse i just won't install a bell on my 2-10-0 and stick with a company that at least drills holes where they should go for steam loco details.

Can anyone tell me if its ok to run say Bachmann Spectrum's DC 4-6-0 with their new DCC 4-4-0 together or say their DC 2-10-0 with the DCC 4-4-0?
