Title: Couplers
Post by: CGLowry on March 25, 2008, 08:07:27 PM
Just getting started.  Would like to know if anyone knows if the couplers for Atlas and Bachmann rolling stock are compatible.

Yes they are.  Just be sure they are the correct height.   The standard for coupler height is 25/64 inch, measured from top of rail to centerline of the knuckle.

A handy tool is the Kadee coupler height gauge.

Yes ,they are, if you are talking about HO scale rolling stock. I'm not sure about N scale...

NMRA standard coupler heights apply to all scales and gauges.   These days the various companies try to meet those standards.

I neglected to say that the 25/64 inch, or .391,  is for HO scale.  For N the height is .216 inches.   My omission.
