bmetler,
What transformer are you using?Does it have a whistle or bell button on it?

Just purchased a Bachman Engine but we have all Lionel track and transformer.  The train barely runs. and stops after a brief moment.  The Transformers light flashes the whole time the train is on the track if on.  I was told that it would work by Trainworld.   What's really wrong

Do other trains work OK on your track?
Is this the only train you have?
What locos and transformers do you use?

Lee,

Does it derail  at the same place every time or at different places?
Try rolling one car at a time along the track without a loco.Try each
car separately to see if only certain ones derail.Add one car at a time
using an elimination process to maybe find the problem.Check,as
someone mentioned above, the gauge of the track and the gauge of
the wheels.Small variations in the track gauge seem to be more
tolerable than small variations in wheel gauge.

Williams by Bachmann / Re: New Williams Locos Wanted

I don't know who buys what, maybe Bachmann does, but it seems to me that the "O31 toy" is the backbone of the hobby.
Other companies are making beautiful scale locos that need a much larger track radius on which to run.The Williams locos
of any type are reliable, well made and affordable.
IMO if Bachmann thought scale E-60s and Metroliners would sell they would have them made.

I'm sure you have already tried these things but I will ask anyway.
Have you run the loco with no cars?
Have you run the loco without the tender?
Have you run the loco upside down as a test{off the track of course]?
Have you tried it with the boiler superstructure off?
Have you checked the wheels on the tender and the cars?

I do not usually add to these type of posts making suggestions because I think the companies probably are more aware of what is selling, and that is there primary concern, know what will sell.
BUT an O gauge model of the PRR saddle-tanker shown on the home page would be very nice.

Thank you.

Last year I did not get the announcement until possibly June for some reason.

I like cars that represent real railroads rather fantasy roads that are advertisements for your products.

Any info on when the 2014 club car enrollment may be available?

I have the following transformers with whistle/horn buttons;Lionel CW80 and a small starter set transformer,MTH Z 1000 and Z 4000.
I have locos from Lionel,K-Line,Williams and Atlas that have whistles/horns operated by all of the above listed transformers.
I also have other transformers used for accessories.
The locos I have date from 1946 to present.

To me it seems that it is not really necessary to have a lot of road names from WBB.
Looks as if you guys do real well repainting and lettering what is available to get what you want. :)

I'm not sure about Williams and have never had this problem.
I have heard that sometimes if you switch the power wires to the
track this will make a difference.
Do your other locos work OK?If so,this will probably not help.
#42
Many of the Williams type locos do not have a smoke on/off switch.

I agree with Joe.The Peter Witt street car was probably seldom,if ever, run in reverse.
Some other types of street cars had reversible seats and the controls were moved
from one end to the other, the trolley pole on one end was lowered and the other
one raised.The Witt car was,I think,single ended.

Williams by Bachmann / Re: Sound for Williams O
October 17, 2013, 09:58:31 PM
I have only three Lionel locos with TMCC that are mostly run conventionally.
I see no reason to sell them because they have TMCC.
To limit my choices to WbB would severly limit types of steam locos.
Diesel slection however,IMHO,is quite good.

Bob,

If the things you mentioned above were to be available as add-on features that might do well.

Please don't forget that there are many who like what WbB produces.I have TMCC but would
rather run my trains conventionaly.I don't care for the various sounds either.Whistles, horns
and bells are ok for me.

The other factor is tha tWbB trains are still less expensive than Lionel and MTH.
