Be careful lifting off the shell - in the one I just bought the wires went around the weight causing the weight to try to stay with the shell.

SeaSaltChap,

The use of "that" instead of "who" following "anyone" is arguable.   Who is appropriate referring to a person and that is appropriate for groups or things.  However, a group could be a group of people - like a team, committee, etc.

"Anyone" as used in the sentence in contention here can be interpreted as the group of people who don't know..."  In this case "that" is proper.   As the dictionary points out, any one (with the space) more specifically refers to "any single memer of a group or persons or things".

Had "any one" been used, rather than anyone, I would agree with you.  Should you want to continue the debate, I'll bet you one Bachmann G scale Caboose I don't need against a Chattanooga observation car if you have one.

Bob :)

Forget my question - I forgot I'm using a separate decoder for motive.

Matthew - what do you mean by "If you really want Tsunami, Soundtraxx is planning to release one that will handle higher current, with the idea that it will work in a large scale locomotive?"

I have Tsunamis installed in 3 Bachmann locos and they work just fine.

Large / RIGI DUO Cableway

Any comments about the RIGI DUO Cableway (120V version) - like whether the scale is close to 1:20 and does it function well?  I was about to figure out how to motorize a cable car for next year's holiday layout when I discovered these.

Thanks, Bob

I thought for sure this would end with "on the 12th day my true love had an epiphany and gave me a battery."

Jim - thanks.  Duh, I could have answered my own question about using a resistor because I'm thinking of a board in only one car and running wires back to the others - which is another way the draw will change depending on how many cars are hooked up, hence negating dropping with a resistor.

Jim - when you say regulate, do you mean just a resistor or an actual voltage regulator?  Can you also explain the diode setup?

Thanks, Bob

traindude - what part numbers from superbrightleds did you use?  I tried a couple of so-called super bright leds from a local hobby shop for car lighting and they were pretty lame.  I ended up using 80ma incandescents with "shades" fashioned out of yellow cellophane that makes for a nice "glow".

Regards pickups - the LBG wheels are spendy but are in my mind worth the money.   I also read something about the aggregate drag from non-ball bearing wheels and the difference in the types of pickups and I believe it after seeing the difference between converting a car using LBG wheels versus the pickup wheels that came with a brand xxxxx car I just bought.
