Title: adding sound to dcc
Post by: richpur on July 08, 2007, 06:11:13 PM
I have a couple of GP35' ???s that are DCC equipped. I would like to add sound. Is it available? I am running a Digitrax system.

If they are Bachmann, the DCC is on the circuit board, not a separate decoder.
The modification could possibly be done, but with a lot of work and expense.  Other than having a loud horn, it may not be practical.

I hear a lot of hype about the NMRA standars on compatibility of DCC encoders and controllers,  from what I am hearing there are some problems, especially with sound.

Bo;
Rather than trying to incorporate a sound module into what is already there, why not do MRC, Tsunaim, Loksound, etc? and be done wit hit?
SImpler is always better in this stuff-in practically any stuff...
