DrNick:
The folks here have said that hopefully once Rheneas was released that Bachmann would re-stock Skarloey. Others have also said that Rusty might arrive late Spring after the February announcements. We can only hope that more information may come from the Bachmann.

Luckily Skarloey did pop back up on ebay the other day and at a farirly good price, so grabbed him, so I've got the 2 engines, 4 slate wagons and 4 open wagons on the way to start my NG collection!

I really hope Rusty is out soon and they announce more for the range in February!  Is it typical of Bachmann to announce things and then not release them for 18 months?

Hey guys! So if you follow my Twitter or Instagram you would've already seen this, but I finally released my Red and Green coaches on Shapeways! I tried to upload some photos of the coaches to show here, but I can't get it to work for the life of me. If you want to see them, go to my twitter, instagram or shapeways store. Also please note the photos on there are of my own shoddy prints of the coaches, and if you were to buy some from shapeways they would not be at all shoddy or anything. The Shapeways render is the best way to see what you're buying.
I really enjoyed seeing Terrence's updates on his layout, too, and hope to see his video on them soon!

Very impressive work!  And yeah, shapeways prints are quality, I've bought many for my carnival modeling.  I would definatly recommend spending a bit extra and getting the white stong and flexible polished over the matte finish.  Will take way less paint layers to get a smooth finish.

Still hoping shapeways will run a decent sale sometime soon.  Dissapointed they didn't run a sale Christmas week as in years past :(

Just a note about Salty, people were saying he was still available in his set, but I don't see that listed in the Bachmann store either.  Seems like an odd choice of all the locos to get discontinued.  I think he is pretty essential to most layouts if you wanted to do the docks.

Wonderful work on your railroad and Mighty Mac there.  I don't think I'd ever have the skill and patience to make custom locos.  Great stuff and thanks for sharing.

I'm trying to get a narrow guage collection started.  I see that Skarloey is out of stock on the Bachmann store and seems to be selling crazy expensive on ebay.  It's not discontinued is it?  Really hope not.  Do things typically go in and out of stock periodically?

Rusty and Paxton have already been announced.

Salty is the only engine so far that is discontinued.

Thanks, NP, discovered the 2017 announcement list after I posted.  I just assumed at first things that had been announced would be listed in the store section buy saying coming soon or something as I thought they did in the past for new items.

Thanks for the reply.  Could we assume the same timeframe for Duncan then also?

Sorry for dumb questions, kinda fell out of intrest for a couple years and I'm figuring out what's been new to the line the past couple days.

Is this still coming out?  I don't see it listed on the website here.

I've been away from the hobby for a while and was intriqued to look back into the site here and see what's new.

I noticed Salty isn't listed and he seems HTF on ebay too.  Was he really discontinued?  Seems like all the other engines that had been released are still available, or am I missing anything?

Anyway, back to the topic of 2018.  I love the idea of the Narrow Guage railway, so I hope we get at least one new engine and some rolling stock in that range.  Hopefully Peter Sam, Sir Handel, Duncan or Rusty are the ones I'm most familiar with.

And in the main HO range I always wanted Diesel 10.  Also Paxton would be great and an easy recolor.  Beyond that I'd love Den and Dart.

I wish we could also get some new cool accessories like a Steamworks or Dieselworks.

I wish we would get another big year like 2011 (I think) when they put out the 2 sets of twins, Knapford, Tidmouth Sheds, Lighthouse, Windmill and a few other things.  Maybee like:

Engines:

Diesel 10
Den
Dart

Rolling Stock:

Rocky
Red branchline coaches

Buildings/Accesories:

Steamworks
Dieselworks
Watermill

is this really happening or you want it to because that many things in one year is very doubtful but I do agree with you on Hiro but the engine they should make next I think is Stephney or Murdoch

Are Murdoch or Stepney really on much anymore?  I haven't seen all episodes/seasons of the show, but doesn't Bachmann usualy put out engines that are currently seen on the show/movies?  Or at least were featured alot in earlier years?

I don't see the big deal in mentioning Hornby either.  I don't think they're in competition with Bachmann since they really distribute mainly in the UK and Bachmann in US as far as I can tell at least.  Only a few diehard collectors out there are going to track down the items from the other side of the ocean, usualy just a select few engines the other company doesn't produce.  Only Hornby engine I have is Dart but I have all available engines from Bachmann.

Thomas & Friends / Knapford expansion question
March 18, 2013, 06:16:09 PM
I was just looking over my knapford station kit and started building, but I noticed the way the holes are in the platforms.  I was wondering for those who have done bigger stations, is it possible to make the station longer or only wider like they show you on the instruction sheet?

I have 2 sets, (2nd one on way) and was hoping to do 3 sections long by 3 wide.  Is that easily done or will the alignment of the posts/holes cause a problem?

Very excited to see Arry and Bert coming!  Glad I didn't get the Hornby versions as I'm sure Bachmann's will be better.

Nice to get some more diesels on the roster aswell as characters that are currently seen alot so my kids are familar with them.
