at the age of 2 it is uncommon to have a large attention span to do research
but i have done much research on how electricity works and the workings of ac dc and dcc
and their historys
i just like to ask the pro's first= who roam freely among this message board
;D
i looked it up and i know now

General Discussion / i might be dumb...

but how do the trains run even if the track is not finished?
should'nt be a complete circuit in order to run?
or am i missing something
probbably am because they do... ???
does it have something to do with the ac and dc electrics?

yes
"fo shizzle " to you rogertra   :D
i'm sorry
i meant loco and tender

they both were replaced in about a week and a day
im surprised bachmann does'nt give it to their service department to fix
so they can keep their jobs  ;D
i wonder if you need to go to model train college to work for them...
i bet you need an engineering degree...

ANYWAY
i just wanted to say i was happy to get an entirley new loco and tender after a slight problem...
everyone on this board is very articulate and pays attention to the misspellings on all posts AND WAITS FOR THE MOMENT
to pounce and critisize!  :P joking
happy railroading

General Discussion / Re: layout
August 31, 2007, 01:10:58 AM
1. think of an era
2. look for a place during that era
3. model that place
this is good because you are not aimlessley building things
and then
find a basic track plan
try a double loop
get a basic idea and go for it
need trolleys?
bachmann has a highly detailed trolley set
i dont have trolleys on my layout so
just ask google trolley layout online
itll spark your imagination
you'd be surprised the amount of deatail you can put into a 5 by 8

no... no abuse at all
the plug which connects the loco to the tender.
the plastic part  is stuck in the female plug and ripped it out when i carefully took it out.
its not even an internal problem

General Discussion / repair and return
August 26, 2007, 12:19:38 AM
i had a warranty on my spectrum 2-8-0 loco ( the award winning one)
and it had some part of it break
a plug of some sort in between the loco and the tender
warranty is still good so i sent it out to bachmann's service department
does anyone know how long it will take to return?

call me impatient...

General Discussion / Weathering
August 23, 2007, 08:27:35 PM
well i have my layout all set up...
trees... houses... grass... spectrum trains thundering down the line..
now i need to make more realism
boxcars... Look too new
any advice on how to weather them?
sand them down slightly?
throw dirt powdered dirt on them?
my basic ideas
how do you do it with out buying boxcars with that something like that already done?

General Discussion / COWS!
August 22, 2007, 01:55:00 AM
this may be a bit off topic for this board
but does the cow catcher commonly on the front of steam locomotives...
did it push cows off the rails?
because i was wondering if it didnt have that, could it derail the train if it was a 4-4-0? or 0-6-0?
because i was playing railroad tycoon 3 on my pc and a consolidation 2-8-0 loco on the game was designed with red (stuff) on the cowcatcher.
which brought me to my curious question.
did they hit the cows if they did'nt get off the tracks?
