HO / Re: Metal Wheel Tire vs Traction Tire

Buy a BLI engine and you won't need to worry about traction tires or adding weight. Their engines can pull tree stumps!!!! The Bachman Spectrum series has them beat in the detail department but like anything, there are trade-off's.

I guess I'm a little lazier than you Jim. I had the same problem and just HOT GLUED the motor to the frame as well as the wires. It quieted down a little. I think the real solution would be to replace the decoder with a Lenz Silver Series silent back emf unit. I love these and put them in almost all my locomotives. What a difference they make!!!!

The "DCC ON BOARD" line of loco's are extremely affordable and if you don't mind the coffee grinder sound, they are a great deal!

That will teach them to disrespect daddy's engine!

My yawn was simply an expression of what I have been saying all along about Europe, no malice, just indifference.
Sheldon : ... in this, the rest of the world see the US constantly reinventing the wheel for themselves - where others have already been.

Are you kidding? This IS the GREATEST country in the world! Are you willing to challenge that old chap? You want to make generalizations about America and Americans? I heard that in the U.K, your smiley faces have bad teeth ;D

I'm sure your teeth are just fine Stewert; being Americanized and all. I just made up a new word; got a problem with that? ;)

There are websites for discussing politics. This type of forum ain't it! I've seen enough heated debates on speling and p!nctuation ;D I could only imagine if politics were thrown in the ring! YIKES!!!!

What happened. It just started going slow just recently. We also have DSL and it's lightening fast anywhere else. It take forever to navigate this website.

What happened?  >:(

Thanks S.R for your contribution toward those restorations.

I'd like to see some pics of the shays with trees growing up through them! I doubt that they will be resurrected but at least they escaped
the "scrappers torch" ;)
