HO / Re: Spring Replacement on Kadee couplers

I find a #11 Exacto knife blade the ideal tool to install Kadee springs.
Also for Microtrain N gauge springs.

Wire 18v grain of wheat bulb in series with a diode to contacts to metal wheels of tender. Bulb will light only with dc reverse polarity, if diode is turned correctly.

General Discussion / Mr. Bach Man - Locomotive Paint
April 06, 2009, 04:50:18 PM
Could you tell me the color (name) of the lighter metalic looking paint on the front boiler area of many of Bachmann's black boiler locomotives?
Also is this paint available from Bachmann?
Thanks much.

I mailed a defective N 2-8-0 Spectrum  #81174 to Bachmann on 01-20-09.
Bachmann received package 8:52 am 01-22-09. I have emailed Bachmann service department twice asking when I would be receiving repaired locomotive. I have tried calling each day for past week, only getting an answering machine asking me to speak louder. I own over 50 Bachmann locomotives, both N & HO. This is the first time I have had to deal with Bachmann's service department and I hope my last.

Finally, after 7 weeks of trying, I talked with a real person at Bachmann.
She, (whoever she is), was very nice, courteous and spent several minutes trying to locate my returned locomotive. She informed me of the tracking number and said the repair people were working in the 100 series that my tracking number was located. That I should receive the repaired unit in at least a couple weeks. BTW I got the actual person by calling Bachmann parts and the person I talked with there, transfered my call to a live person insted of an answering machine.

I have to take issue with many comments about Ebay purchases. When a person uses common sense and judgement, they can make some real buys on Ebay. I model both HO and N gauge. In past year, I have been building up my stock of N gauge steam locomotives. In this period, I have purchased 26 steam locomotives on Ebay with a retail value of $3989, for a few dollars over $900. This averages to around $35 per locomotive. ALL locomotives were new, factory sealed, full warrantee, Bachmann, Model Power, or Roundhouse. (2-6-0's, 2-8-0's and 4-4-0's.) If you want to make some excellent purchases, just find a few reputable liquidators and keep a constant eye on their listings.

Could some one explain to me how to post photo's on this site?
Each time I try posting a photo, I receive the following:

"The upload folder is full. Please try a smaller file and/or contact an administrator. "

Thanks

N / Model Power Parts
May 08, 2008, 02:48:10 PM
Wondering if anyone knows where a person can buy Model Power Parts, or if they are even available?
I have emailed customer service on the Model Power web site several times, but have never received an answer.
