Title: how do I dismantle a steam engine shell
Post by: west1577 on October 29, 2016, 10:01:09 PM
I want to remove the black blanks out of the cab of steam engine #52704 to add an engineer & fireman figures and to build up the back of the boiler. How do I dismantle the shell?

You find the right screws and undo them..   Surf the site for the assembly diagrams.

You should be able to tell how to dismantle the Loco Shell by turning it upside down & carefully checking the loco. Some Locos shells POP Off using a hobby knife or small hobby grade flat screwdriver Some you need to unscrew a few screws. Or as stated try to find the manual online for the layout of your Loco. But it should not be that hard to do its just a matter HOW to get it OFF the Loco Chassis...

Steam especially can be difficult to dismantle.  Follow the advice give here.

A hint for future questions.

Most of us haven't a clue what engine #52704 is.  We do not use catalogue numbers, we use the engine description.  For example, "How would I dismantle the Bachmann 4-4-0 with sound?" means way more to us than "#52704."

Best of luck.
