Title: N Scale electric train set
Post by: Leazy42 on November 06, 2009, 02:19:16 PM
My dad gave my sons' this train set quite a few years ago. I know nothing about it and am considering getting rid of it. Could anyone help me with info on this?
It's in pretty decent shape and a label on the side says Item No. 4251
Thanks for any help.

It sounds as if you have a Bachmann starter set. Maybe a diesel loco, a few cars, caboose, track, and transformer. If it's in good shape, Maybe your sons might like to set it up and run it. Add a few more cars and track. Build a layout.

If your looking at it as a possible valuable collectible. Store it away for 50 yrs and it will probably be a valued collectable. Otherwise, sell or give it to someone who would like have a nice train set. Maybe the Bachmann can identify and give you an exact discription.

The value of old Bachmann train sets typically runs in the $5 - $10 range. You might find a sucker on ebay willing to pay more.......
