I guess the thing to remember is that just because nothing's being said doesn't mean nothing's being done.

They said it was going to happen.
They've said several times since that it's not been cancelled, or delayed.

Wanna bet someone's working on it?  Maybe a lot of someones?

Hey, just because someone lets slip you're getting a surprise birthday party, they don't necessarily have to fill you in on when, where, who, and the contents of all your gifts ....  you just get to anticipate it a bit more because someone let some of the informaton slip before it was time....

Oh, wait, that sounds like something that other guy might say.  Regardless, I'd bet that while it's often foolish to count your chickens before they hatch, that somewhere there's a bunch of incubating mudhen eggs....

Eh.  There isn't often a lot of Spectrum announced at Toy Fair, historically ... it's more about, well, toys, and what we run is .... something else, I guess.

While there isn't any joy in this corner of Mudville, there really isn't any despair either .... and I'm not going on vacation just yet.

I suspect that we won't have to wait till Ihobby to mention the unmentionable.... just a guess.  Even with the new policy, I don't think there actually has to be a show for there to be an announcement (Who knows... we might just hear it first here; wouldn't that be interesting?)

Whether we do or not, when they build it, I'll buy one.

Large / Toy Fair? No Fair!

There are some posters on various Yahoo lists that seem to have got hold of some information from the future....

Rail-going De Loreans notwithstanding, it's always interesting how stuff seems to leak in the week or so before the announcement.

While the fellows in question were primarily concerned with what was (and wasn't) coming in On30, they did mention one of the large scale announcements inadvertently, when someone confused it with an On30 release ....  interestingly enough, the same information had popped up, apparently accidentally, on an obscure internet hobby source about a week ago ....

So ... when do we real people get to find out about this, and what ELSE was on the list?  I hate getting scooped....

General Discussion / Re: How do you shut off your E-Mail?

I haven't been able to find a checkbox for this, although some folks do have theirs shut down....

But ... I can see yours, CNWman ... all of it..... so you're not there yet.

A definitive instruction on this would be helpful.

Tom,

Have you tried a big Phoenix speaker with the Soundtraxx system?  Particulcarly enclosed like you've got it there, I think you'll be happier.

If your tartar sauce cup fails, you might try the bottom half (or so) of a soup can.... particularly if you pack around it with fibreglass or something. It's a bit stiffer, and tends to provide more oomph for your buck.

Mine has the sound designed with the LGB mogul in mind .... really you can pick whichever one sounds good to you.

Dave Goodson did the install on #7, so I can't take credit for the work, but it all goes in the tender, and the chuff contacts work and are wired into the tender, so it's really not that complicated.  I'm going to do the install myself on this next one, and will report back here as to the specifics.

The sound makes all the difference on mine.... really comes to life.

Here's one of mine... at present, the flagship of the Slate Creek:

Have another on order.

Oh, and Soundtraxx makes a GREAT cure to the "too silent" problem also.
