Can the new front truck be retrofitted to the Version 5 Annies?

On30 / #44547 auto-reversing track set
March 30, 2012, 07:07:03 PM
I noticed the #44547 auto-reversing track set features two standard pieces of EZ track. How can they mix the two types of track. Can I use standard pieces of EZ track to extend my trolley set?

On30 / auto-reversing track

If I want to run a standard On30 locomotive on auto-reversing track with a power pack, does it mess up the auto-reversing track for the trolley?

General Discussion / K-line
January 08, 2012, 02:24:52 PM
This may have already been discussed, but I see, if I read it correctly, that Lionel is severing its connection with K-line trains. Is it possible Bachmann will try to pursue K-line. It would be ashamed to see this line of trains disappear!

The additonal question is--could you install Williams horn in an old Lionel 2033!

I just rec'd my 0-4-0 tanker yeaterday. I was surprised how hefty it was and how much better it ran compared to the early tankers from about ten years ago!

All of my pre-Bachmann and WbB locomotives tend to run fast with Lionel conventional transformers. My  mezzanine loop line hanging down in my garage uses a Variac through a heavy transformer. All the Bachmann trains are smoother and start more slowly from the variac. I guess it has more windings but I have poked into it!

Unfortunately, as a retiree on a fixed income, Bachmann is pricing itself out of my ability to pay. I knew that as they improved their trains this would eventually happen! Guess I have to keep my eye on Ebay!

I removed the Walschaerts valve from both of my Bumblebee Annies. It is my opnion that the eccentric is not advanced enough on the main driver to provide adequate value motion. I cannot see any easy way to change this so I removed it!

Maybe they can use some castings on the fron trucks to make them for forgiving of uneven track!

I routinely couple my Bachman couplers to Aristo. I just lift the Bachman coupler and set it down into the Aristo coupler!!

My layout is a fairly large irregular loop which surrounds a large bush in the corner of my yard. I used Lionel sectional track because I had a lot of it. I have horses in back so I had a lot of decomposed granite! I laid out my loop got everything connected and ran some short trains.
I decided to use a battery to run my trains instead of trying to keep the track clean. I use a 12 volt burglar alarm battery in a boxcar with a switch on top and wire leads  to the locomotive. The track is held down by the decomposed granite. I cover the track with DG--level the track--and smooth the DG with a foxtail. Then I water the track gently with a garden hose.
The DG settles down between the ties and holds the track down quite well. So that is my empire. I run a Piko 0-6-0 and three Bachmann cars lettered for D&RGW!
That's All Folks!

I don't know--I like my AMT/WbB SF F-7. They are almost historical and a heck of alot cheaper than Lionel. Add to that they will run forever! When you put them on the front of a passenger train, they look great! So the front is a little flat---life goes on!

Does WBB sell its GP-9 shells?

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to put a longer trailing truck on a "J". The truck that is currently on the loco looks a bit shrt to me!
