Many THANKS once again to LocoBill.  You always come to the rescue. I feel confident in buying the 91602.  Thanks to Brakeman also for the dates of Loco Bills articles as I will probably need them.

Thanks for the reply.  What I'm looking for is the difference in electronic sophistication.  The 83195 is too large for my ceiling layout so I need the narrow gauge
but I can't find out what the Bachmann Big Hauler locomotives have in the way of adaptability to battery run or eventual DCC hookup.  I can't find info on the
capabilities the Big Hauler variety.

You won't believe it, but my repair of the Mogul 2-6-0 is complete!!!!  Repaired according to your able instructions, line by line!!  The Locomotive is running beautifully.
When I opened the gear box, there it was . . . a cracked axel gear . . . just as you predicted.  I am one happy model railroader.  Again thank you for your contributions
to this hobby and this forum.

Thank you, Loco Bill.  As a new comer to model railroading, it is nice to know that there is good information from good people available.
We do have another engine which is running well so at least we can test our track.  Since I have promised to have the train running for
the holidays, I think I will tackle the mogul repair in Jan.  I will keep all your information available and have downloaded the pictures
for reference.  I will also order the Bachmann axle with the gear installed, sounds easier.
Thanks again for the prompt reply and good information

Large / Loco Bill and Gears on the 2-6-0
November 08, 2015, 09:39:06 AM
Loco Bill:  Just read your article on replacing the Axle Drive gears.  I just tried to run a Spectrum 2-6-0 Mogul which I bought several years ago.  I put up a ceiling track
and am now ready to run trains.  Unfortunately, the 2-6-0 just hummed and sounded like it was slipping gears.  I had previously completed the lubrication instructions
since it is a new engine.  Turning the engine over, I noticed when I hand rolled the wheels that there was no apparent movement of the "white" gears that I could see.
Could it possibly be that axle gear?  Or is there something else I can try?  I do not want to over oil it so I haven't tried to put more oil in the box.  Any suggestions???
Thanks so much for any help in this matter.

Large / Using sensor magnets??

I have a 2-6-0 Mogul Steam Locomotive, do I need to use a sensor magnet on the engine?  Where would you put it.  I bought a LGB 1705.

Thanks for the info, I guess you can tell, I'm new at this.  The Loco is a Bachmann
Spectrum 1:20.3 Scale 2-6-0 Mogul Steam Locomotive.  The track is Aristocraft
Aluminum 322, and the curve diameter should be 8'.  Somewhere I read that I should use 322 track???  I have the straight track purchased and looking for the curved track and I will need two turnouts.  The train is for indoors. ???
