HO / Re: Soundtraxx factory sound onboard--RS-3
November 25, 2015, 02:39:13 AM
I am using an MRC Prodigy Advance with three throttles. Thanks for the tips--I will check them out.
(Even when the unit accepts a four digit ID it does not move)

HO / Soundtraxx factory sound onboard--RS-3
November 02, 2015, 02:51:57 PM
Problem--Although all the sound and light functions work fine, the motor only works intermittently and unpredictably.
The connections on the board are all tight and the motor connections seem tight. When it does run any change in direction or CV will shut the motor down.
I have tried resets from CV 8 and 30 and consist is off.
Thanks for any suggestions

Thanks--I was concerned that those were motor mounting screws. A smooth design with no tabs or twisting.

Jim--Thanks for your note. I have programmed many Bachmann in ops mode--that is the only way I use. In the one in question I can change momentum.

HO / 70 tonner address change
May 23, 2011, 12:46:23 AM
I recently bought a new red HO 70 tonner with DCC on board. I cannot change the address from 3 using either MRC PA or NCE systems, programming on the main.
Last year I sent another new unit back for the same  problem. The tech called to see what address I wanted and was surprised that I was having a problem. Problem solved.
Question--what did you do to get a new (#50) address?
I also bought the new cream/gold scheme and changed the address ok.
Thanks Dan

HO / 60611 70 tonner

It looks like the new color scheme for the 60611 GE 70 tonner is copied from the Salzburg short line scheme.  Is it? What great news if so! Hard to believe that this didn't happen until after i had painted the undecs I bought.

HO / Re: 4-6-0 tender
May 21, 2009, 09:55:28 PM
There are instructions out there that start with removing the plug and pcb, but the wiring is not NMRA compliant and I can't tell if the there are color coded dots on all the black wires. Since I'm new at this, I want to use the plug.

A couple of you mentioned that you have the different size tenders. Could you give the lengths?

Guilford--I'm modeling 1950-ish--m.u. 70 tonners, E-7 Alouettes, and lots of milk.

Yes, I am modeling the SJLC and other RRs that connected in the bustling hub of St. Johnsbury, VT.

Thanks all for the info. Roundhouse is reissuing 34' cars that might work to hide the decoder/speaker.

HO / 4-6-0 tender

What size tender comes with the ten wheeler? Looks like the small one. I'm thinking of using the medium coal tender with the 4-6-0 if a speaker/decoder will fit better. I have a Lok Sound decoder and even substituting the 3/4" speaker, there is not room. I'd rather not cut out the board. How long is the medium tender? Are the board and harness included in tender-only purchases? Anyone else tried this?
Thanks Dan

My IHC Mogul with LokSound runs and sounds as good as anything I have. It turns heads. Too bad IHC doesn't get the respect it deserves.

HO / 4-6-0 DCC board
April 24, 2008, 02:52:23 PM
I installed a TCS MC-2 with short harness in a brand new HO 4-6-0 with DCC plug. The decoder **and** two wire plug immediately burned. Since this is a supposed to be a DCC-ready product what is the procedure to get the loco fixed?
Thanks Dan

I called Accu-Cal looking for the same decals. I was told all the inventory was flooded out 6 months ago. He has found no supplier yet.
I tried the passenger set from MicroScale but the color is too light for the aluminum. I may paint the lettering area white as this seems to be what was done early on.

Jon--Very nice model and sound. I am just getting around to DCC for my club. I have the 81409 series (B&M) with the 8 pin plug. I have read that there is a problem with that socket blowing decoders. What series is yours and did you have any problem? Does the headlight work ok?
Thanks for your  help    Dan
