Can the trolly cars (auto-reversing) be used on a regular track with a dc transfromer?

Thanks.  Just wanted to know if they could be rebuilt for other types of locomotives

You can also run locomotives on the auto reversing track.   Porters and gas mechanicals with very short trains work well.
