Large / Value? Please excuse my ignorance...

Newly returing to trains with my DD!

Is there a place where I can find the value of an 'older' train.  We bought a Large Scage Pennsylvaninan for DD for christmas.  I really want a christmas train, also, but we did not want to sink that kind of money into a once a year train.....

So this weekend, I find a Bachmann Big Hauler at a yard sale for $5.00.  I know it is not a 'great' train- it is 9 volt battery operated, but I thought I could paint it to make it a christmas train, but I want to know what it is worth before I "ruin" it. LOL!  That way, we have the nice, 'good' train for daily use (DD LOVES trains!) and the fun Christmas train.  I found some simular to this on ebay for $50, but I haven't seen it sold yet....

I just couldn't leave it there for 5 bucks!

Thomas & Friends / Dear Mr. Bach-mann....

Hello!  I am new to the Large Scale Train World.  (My three year old little girl will be getting her first from the "Big guy" this Christmas!)  She just loves trains.   ;D

I was wondering if you were ever going to manufacture a Large Scale Rosie?  My little one LOVES Thomas, but Rosie, bring pink/purple is her obvious favorite!  I understand that she is not a 'high demand' figure, but I would gladly pay for a Rosie. There are some of us girls who grew up building trains with our Daddies and Grandaddies, and we are now building them with our daughters.  I think you could possibly be missing a nice marketing opportunity.

Just wondering......  I thought about painting a Thomas, but I just can't bring myself to do it!

Thanks!
