General Discussion / Re: MRCAutoReverse

Thank you for your suggestion. Good news, courtesy my LHS the problam is solved.
The isolation at the entry and exit point need to be stagered just enough that the first two pick up wheels will not be in contact at the same time across the two rails. Cheers, pjf

heres another tip on your handsets   get a extra.   have both on and one just sitting there sending signals
I have checked with Tech Support and as I understand it the dynamis base and handset are paired. The base only receives data from one unit  and only from the one that came in the set. Let us know if you are using more than one handset and how. pjf

The sending unit stopped working. I was using it and turned it off for a moment. I turned it on again but failed to turn on. No display, completely dead. Changed to new batteries did not help. Other than changing batteries nothing else can be done.
I have no issues with the battery lids. You need to catch the front lip before pushing it down to close . pjf

General Discussion / A feel good storey

Few days before Christmas my recently purchased Dynamis stopped working.
Before panic set in I realized that I kept my EZ Command and the trains will run around the Christmas tree.
I promptly phoned Bachmann tech support. I had a live person on the phone and within minutes my problem was looked after and a warranty replacement was scheduled. Now try that with a company whose tech support is offshore.
I think Bachmann's products and after sales service are second to none.
Never a disappointment, always a pleasant experience. My replacement arrived today. About 2 weeks with two holydays and cross border shipping included.
I just wanted everyone to know. pjf

I think the drawings from jward are created on Anyrail and I am using it also. I am amazed, 25 years ago AutoCad was selling for around $4000. This software Anyrail is probably more powerfull than the first version of AutoCad.

Thank you Jeffery, that is precisely what I wanted to see. Between each two turnouts the arc needs small pieces of track to be fair. Cheers

Thank you all for the good suggestions. The small add sections come in a pack of 4 or more. Usually one gets used and the rest just stays around. I have cut sections to fit but always cut in the middle and glued that way the locking  ends are preserved. I am hoping that jward will show a drawing that I can compare with mine. pjf

Hello Jward, I am looking at your post with great interest. It is an elegant solution putting the crossovers on the curves.
I would like to ask you to show us a complete loop with crossovers at booth top ends of the oval.
I have a 4' x 9' +- oval including a reverse loop inside, all EZ-track.
Looking at your drawings I am probably using  the same software. Unfortunately I can not complete the ovals with 3", 4-1/2" and 9" sections. Each loop is off by -+ 1/2" and the reverse section needs to be deformed a bit to fit. Using the crossover the "typical" way all of the sections fit without any distortion.
I hope to see your responce. Cheers pjf

Thank you for suggestions.
Problem solved. I cut a 3 1/2" track for the inside and used all 9" sections for the outside. Cheers, pjf

MRC #1908 sounder only less than $40 on E-bay. I have 2 and 3 more others also MRC.  It works for me but I am happy with the basic steam sounds and my grand children are entertained.

I looked at that item 44592 but the sizes are not provided.
Now I know, thank you Hunt.
I do have On30 and I posted there to get more exposure. It is deleted now. pjf

HO / EZ track help
January 08, 2012, 10:16:36 PM
Hello everyone, Happy New Year to all.
Setting up an oval layout came up half inch short or half inch long depends how I look at it.  Having a parallel line with two cross overs using a set of two  LH turnout and set of two RH turnout.
The shorter distance inside is 30 inches and is made up of 3x9" and 1x3'' straights.
The longer distance outside is 53 1/2 inches and 6x9" straight equals 54 inches.
How can I make up a 8 1/2" section with standard  EZ tracks available.
I can cut and shorthen a 9" section but not if I can make it from standard sections.
Thank you for your input. pjf

On30 / Thomas
June 06, 2011, 06:11:02 PM
Hello Mr Bach-man, here is a crazy idea. How about a couple of Thomas and friends locos like Emily in O size running on HO track. My grand children will love you, it would fit in my On30 world and Bachmann would have a new market potential in the UK and with children all over the world who's grandpas play with On30.

On30 / wiring
May 10, 2011, 08:26:31 PM
Question to Mr Bachman or to all who is in the know.
I just purchased  a 4-4-0 Russia and  sound only decoder MRC 1665, 2 wire hook up.
I noticed there are 2 empty terminals marked L and R side on the aft side of the circuit board. It is alive reading 18 volts same as the track voltage or the EZ Command output.
Is this the right place to solder my wires or you have other recommendations.
Thank you
