General Discussion / EZ track problem
May 26, 2009, 12:16:41 AM
I have a small layout with 7 "turn outs". Some of them snap to position when switched but 3 or 4 will bounce back a bit and not locked in. Consequently I get lots of derailment. Is there something I can fix or these turn outs are defective.  Hope someone can help, thank you.

On30 / 2 8 0 problems
May 03, 2009, 06:54:58 PM
I have nothing to compare it with so I would like to know if it is normal and if I  have a problem or not.

Issue #1 - the pilot on my engine is very sloppy it flips side to side (90ยบ) very freely when I pick it up, when it is on the rail the little spring on the top is not touching the frame. The only pressure on the wheels is from its, own weight, consequently it derails most time going through the switches, both directions.
My layout is on the basement floor now and it is not perfectly flat, however, I have two 2 6 0s and they fly through without any problems. Standard turnouts and 18" radius tracks.

On30 / disappointing
April 23, 2009, 08:38:18 AM
Of all the nice products offered by Bachmann it is disappointing that all the lighted passanger cars and cabooses look unreal in the dark. The light comes through the walls, roof and doors with or without windows. Short of taking it apart and paint the insides are there some better solutions?
Is "Mr. Bachmann" working on a solution? pjf

General Discussion / EZ Track Question
March 21, 2009, 12:34:57 PM

I am trying to isolate or section off my layout. Is there an easy way to remove the connectors. I found it difficult and it gets destroyed when I have to pry it off with brute force. There has to be a better way. Thank you in advance.

On30 / On30 locos
March 15, 2009, 06:56:29 PM
Just curious.
The DCC equipped locos 4-4-0, 2-4-4 Forney and the 2-8-0 have similar manufacture suggested retail prices. On eBay the 2-4-4 and more so the 4-4-0 demand higher prices and have more biding action than the 2-8-0 but the 2-8-0 looks more complicated and have more details than the other two. What's your take on this?
Thanks.

On30 / On30 2-8-0

Hello Mr Bach Man, 2 questions please.
I have purchased (with no returns) and just received my On30 2-8-0 loco. While opening the package I found a small note saying that this loco "not recommended for curves less than 22". I also purchased E-Z tracks but not received or set up, all 18" curves and turnouts.

Am I in to a big disappointment?

There is no warning or notice regarding this recommendation found on any advertising, descriptions, outside the box or write-ups on this engine anywhere.

Question 2, there are several extra detailing parts comes with this engine including a small amount of black sand like substance.

What is this and how is it used?

General Discussion / help
February 05, 2009, 10:11:43 PM
Hello,  just purchased an On30 25014 set (Denver & Rio Grande) and I would like to install the MRC steam sound module Item # 00001007.
Please need your help with the wiring and suggestions where would be the best placement for the module.
Is the locomotive DCC ready?
The "Combine" has electrical pickup for the lights can I use that to power the sound module?
Thank you in advance,
PJF
