I'm starting a little fun Project. I bought a Thomas Ho locomotive...(everyone has one right?). LOL
Well I'm going to install a steam sound decoder into it. I think it will have room for a small decoder and speaker.
And I will install led's for front and rear lights. Just something to do to breakup the normal Railroading stuff.

Well today is a nasty rainy day so I decided to work on my layout. On one end I am building a tunnel mountain section.
I have the tunnel made but before I can put the roof on the tunnels I needed to put up a facia along that end of the layout.
I cut out the facia and cutout a access panel so I will be able to get to derailment if I have any and clean the track.
I have painted it and waiting for the paint to dry so I can mount it onto the layout. Once that is up I can put the roof on the tunnels. Then I can start to build the mountain on top of the tunnels.
Thats if for now I will post pic soon.

Is there a way to reset the bachmann DCC decoder to factory settings.

I have a Bachmann GP 40 and the gears in the trucks are so loose that they don't mesh all the time and gears are slipping past each other.
Not happy.
I ordered two new trucks for it and hope that the tolerances on the new ones are alot closer.
This is going to be a expensive Locomotive when I get done replacing all the parts for it.

I'm trying to upload a picture but I'm getting a upload folder is full. How do I reset it or empty the folder.

I have noticed a lot of lip burrs on the ends of the rails on each track section. You can feel and hear that lip well when your train runs over them. I took each track and de-burred the ends using a metal fingernail file. Train runs alot smoother now over the connections.

I just received a Bachmann gp 40 dcc ready But it won't run, the headlight and reverse lights come on but it don't move.
I know that my power and track is hooked up right because my other locomotive run just fine.
So I disassembled it to look for wires touching and such but I see no issues there. But I took the motor out and it has a bunch of  capacitors wired to the case of the motor and to both + and - terminals on the motor...looks like they make a complete circuit to both sides. Need to know what that it all about and if it is needed or not.

I want to replace the switch that comes with the remote turn out to a DPDT switch. I understand how to wire a momentary DPDT switch to operate the turnout but I don't understand how to wire the three wires that the turnout uses to the DPDT switch.

I am using a Dcc Nce power cab on my layout.
What I would like to know if I can use the E-Z command center to just power the turnouts in my layout so not to draw power from the track?

Does anyone know where I can buy E-Z track 1 piece of each. Instead of buying whole packs of four?

I just received my new train kit...It is a Bachmann Echo Valley set, it is Dcc and sound.

And I just went out and got the lumber to build my table. It will be a 4x8 layout.

This is going to be my layout as for now.

Does anyone know if Bachmann makes a traction tire for their Ho  Locomotives?
Or does any other Manufacturer make them for Ho? 

I don't know if this has been asked before, But I would like to know if you can equip any non-dcc Engine to be DDC ready.
