TrainWorld/Trainland in New York says if you pre-order now with a credit card, you will pay $139.95 US and that's the Denver and Rio Grande product #88795. I just got off the telephone with there order dept. Once you have ordered it, I don't know if they can change there price. Hope not.
To bad I live In Canada, I could work for them. Think!!!!!!!

Can you give a more accurate date and cost.  Some pictures would be nice too.

If you did the spelling , English on one side, French on the other, of a steam locomotive 2-10-2 , you would be absolutely wrong because Canadian National Railways steam loco's never, never ever had French writing on a tender monogram.  If you put the number of your engine on this board I wll try to find you a picture of it.

The actor on the sid rods in that civil war black and white movie , the name of that movie escapes me now, was Buster Ketton  and he also did another silent short  movie set in Canada , going across Canada on a track motor car from coast to coast . Very funny. He live out of and gets everything out of where the motor should be.

As a Kid, Sorry my wife says I still am one.
I watched Casey Jones from the 1957 TV series staring Alan Hale Jr.  ( the captain on Gilligan's Island ) . Set in Illinois , Tennessee's 1890's. on the " Midwest and Illinois Central Railroad " Remember the Cannon Ball with the antlers on top, front of its boiler, Casey, his Son Casey Jr,  his Wife Alice, the Dog Cinders, the Fireman Wallie Sims, and Conductor Red Rock Smith too. Remember the show theme song too. It's great.
I purchased the 1 and only years series from Thomas Film Classics on DVD and they have it on sale now from $49.45 to $29.95 .
It shows 1 left in stock so best of luck who gets it first .

Top of the rail , to the top of the spark arrester , is 8 1/4" inches . That is what one of the boards said going back several months ago , as does ( http:/www.grblogs.com/indez.php?blog=4 ) in the ( K27 info blog ) dated September 25 2008 ( today ) , @ 3:35 pm by cfrrfan1.
But I measured 8 1/16" from top of rail to top of spark arrester so I would give 9" for good clearance . So whats a 1/16 0f an inch among friends .

If you are looking to have the Sierra sound system work in you K-27 , then do this .
1 ) Go to product Reference
2 ) Product Manuals
3 ) K-27 Locomotive Manuals
4 ) Sound and Control Products
5 ) Aftermarket sound systems
6 ) Soundtraxx Sierra Install
7 ) follow all instructions to the letter and on good authority it should work

Thanks to Charlie Mutschler for the wheel sizes , and to all for the different ways to add the chuff . All suggestions are very doable but I would like to talk to Stan Ames first about the optical chuff censors  in the K-27 . So to Stan Ames can you contact me at (engineerdoug@rogers.com ) so I can get more imformation on hooking up to the optical censors . I like your way of doing the chuff the best

I have installed an Air Wire battery control system and P5 phoenix sound system into the K-27 .
It runs great and to all who responded to my questions on this board , a big , big THANKS . My hat is off to you all . But I still have one more question ( for the bachmann man ) , Besides when will you have the  chuff synchronization working .
My down fall for me in this hobby is I am a rivet counter . Which can sometimes be a bad thing to be .  My question to you ( finally ) is What is the size of the tender wheel as compared to the driver wheels . My sound system sounds great but it / or should I say I can't quarter it right . Its off just a bit and I was told if the tender wheels are half the size of the drivers , by cutting a hole to fit the phoenix reed switch into the front of the tender  and placing a magnet on the Axle of the first or second wheel of the lead tender truck , this will quarter the sound system to a " T " .  Is this so .
