I got my new Southern F3's in Black/White scheme and a L&N FA1 AA's. WOW they are great. I plan on running them most of day. Now my Williams stable is getting bigger. My wife picked them up for me late yesterday and while she was in the hobby shop she saw a set of Santa Fe Red/Silver AA's and Cars so she got those put back for her. Stable getting even bigger. ;D
My next move is to get the GP30 in ACL. I will call my Hobby shop next week and get that on order for sure.
Off to the train room. ;D

I will be waiting for your report and I know you will enjoy it very much. I need to get my order in myself but I need to pick up the other 3 Williams engines on hold at my hobby shop this Friday and then I will place my order with him then for my ACL GP30. ;D

Well I got to see and hear the GP30 last night at our club meeting because Curt brought his ACL GP30 and ran it on the club layout. All I can said IMO WOW. That Gp30 is a true home run for Williams by Bachmann. The detail is great and the sound is very nice even though it has no volume control. I hope they move this detail and sound(maybe add a volume control) forward to other engines. Outstanding in my book. :)

I also was reading that on OGR forum. I sure hope they do some RS3 and the Southern RR used a lot of them. I would buy a few myself if they do make some.

I would love to have some RS3 by WBB. Did Williams ever make any RS3? I really like those engines and now since I have moved over to WBB engines I would love to have some. Maybe WBB will make some. Does anyone else like these type engines?

Curt that is great news and I know you will be on the phone for sure. I am trying to catch up with you on Williams engines but it is hard. ;D You have a really nice collection of them. I am just getting mine started. I look forward to seeing them when you get them. :)

As you have said that does sound more prototypical sounding. I am looking forward to club meeting next week and you bringing the GP30 to run on the club layout. Thanks for you input.

Roger you are correct about the sound and my friend who got two of them as said the same thing but he said to him that was not a sale stopper. He has around 25 Williams now and says these are really a great step up for him.

i am sure the sound volume control which it does not have now might change and one might make it in the next run of units if enough people ask for that upgrade. Then to someone on the forum like M1FredQ said will come up with a way to increase the volume.

I have noticed myself if I run my Williams engines using my ZW-C modern transformer with the chopped sine wave I get better slow speed and sound at a lower speed so if I have a new GP30 maybe the sound while running might be better because I am getting it to move at a lower voltage. I will have to get my friend to bring his GP30 over and give that a try. :)

I also read that article and I have seen one in person and IMO they have hit a home run as you said. One of our club members after reading that article went out and got two of them an ACL and NYC. I am getting the ACL myself.

I am in on RS3 or 11. Just love those style engines. I have gotten on board with Williams engines. I have 4 now and 2 more on the way and then I am getting ACL GP30. A friend of mine just got the ACL GP30 and WOW it is great.

I wonder if maybe you might be talking about Fast Track snapping together or RMT sales the old K-Line snap track. Either track does have a transition track to 0 gauge tubular track.

Welcome aboard and to the Williams forum. Very good people here and a great knowledge base. I am new also to Williams engines but have really enjoyed the 4 sets I have and have 2 more on the way. They are rock solid in my book.

I checked them out last Saturday at my LHS. Do not know anything about Phase 2 but the ACL that I looked at was really nice and the detail to me was very nice. I would like to hear the sound but, It was still in the box sealed so I wasn't able to hear it. I have really moved over to Williams engines in the last 8 months and have enjoyed them very much. :)
