Post by: Hotoro on May 01, 2009, 03:45:56 AM
Hi to everyone
I am new in this hobby. I have a problem I want to change this engines tender but I could not figure out how to seperate the existing one change it with another one. Probably it has a easy way, but I could not find it. Thank you very much

Carefully rotate the drawbar 90 degrees to the engine, then gently work the drawbar off of the post on the engine.  The post and the hole in the drawbar are roughly oval shaped.

Thank you, I will try it. As far as I understand  I will turn the tender 90 degree to the engine and try to seperate it from the post. I hope I will not give ant harm to the engine

Perhaps this link can be helpful. It is a guide to a  decoder installation  (http://mvns.railfan.net/dcc//bach280_dec_inst.pdf) in a Bachmann 2-8-0. There you can see some  more info on separating the tender from the engine.  The first time I did it was a bit unnerving since I was afraid of damaging anything. But it worked out fine.
