Thanks for asking this question PF. Mr. Bach Man: I, too, am not sure of the meaning of the moniker "Sound Value". How does this differ (if at all) from the 'Spectrum' line of excellent running locomotives? I noticed, in the January issue of Model Railroader, that Bachmann has come out with a really nice Mogul [2-6-0]. After experiencing the silky running characteristics of my [2] Bachmann Spectrum Americans, as well as my Spectrum GE-45 Ton, I am reluctant to 'plunk down' the better part of $200 for something that isn't up to 'Spectrum' standards. Is a 'Sound Value' product simply a 'Standard' locomotive with a factory-installed sound decoder & speaker?

BTW: Since I am in the asking mode; how about an updated (Spectrum quality) Plymouth WDT...or one of the other critters?

Regards,
Ray
I have seen most of the pre-orders on these to be around 100 dollars. For that price I am probably getting two!

on a big layout I do about every three feet. On loops that  i set up every once in a while I have two one on each side. Just keep adding them until it works.

This happens due to power dropping. This is true for houses to. You On a loop on the floor I would put two wires connected to the tracks coming from the power pack. If this is on a table, I would drill feeders and solder them, then I would run a bus wire under the layout.

I will send you a link in a email. I was checking and he doesn't seem to have anymore for 120 but he has quite a few for 125.

The only thing about that is that I have never seen a steam engine with patched out lettering. I have seen diesels but not steam.
Do you know where I can find a picture?

On 18 inch radius it looks ok, 22 is definitely better. But it does work on 18. It sounds great to. I can send you a link to a place that you can get one with sound for 120 dollars plus 8 dollar shipping. I got mine there and it came in 3 days.

I have one and it will run on 18 inch radius without a hitch. Although most of the time it is on 26 inch radius curves

General Discussion / How do I remove Factory Lettering?
November 20, 2011, 02:47:30 PM
I recently Purchased a 4-6-0 with Factory Installed Sound!
It looks amazing and Is painted for the Southern RR.

Now here is my question, how do I get the Factory lettering off?
I want to re-letter this for a industrial Railroad that hauls bricks.
How would I go about doing this. I saw a tutorial on MRR's website and they recommended Micro-Sol.

Thanks a Lot!

Alright,
I will be getting one of all of them with sound to do a review on. As with almost all my reviews, it should be positive review.
