Title: Which one?
Post by: rains train on January 08, 2008, 10:54:52 PM
Should I get two of the same Bachmann engines, or just on Atlas engine? What would be better? The Atlas is a GP38 High Nose NS and the Bachann are.....GP38-2's I think...I'm not sure. So, any opinions? ???

Atlas Without a doubt. Also check into BLI Blueline. What era are you replicating?

I'm not really doing an era....just mixing it up. I bought a Bachmann Daylight....didn't like it....so now I'm returning it and getting a new one(s). I'm going to have a lot of army scenes though because I have a lot of plane models and stuff. Common people, I need more opinions!  ;D

Asking which manufacturer's engine is better is like asking, "How big is a dog." You have to try them and find out for yourself which you prefer. Both Bachmann and Atlas make quality products and I am sure many modelers have both on their layouts.

A good way to get some idea of the many HO brands out there and see them in action is to visit or join a local club.

I agree with Sid.  Get a good steam locomotive.
