Title: putting a decoder in the Heavy Mountain Vanderbuilt tender
Post by: bnoem1 on March 23, 2008, 05:02:14 PM
I have purchased a few N scale vandy tenders used with the Heavy Mountain I would like to use them with the ConCor 2-10-2.  I can figure out how to couple them but I need help with installing a decoder.  The tenders did not come with any information about the circuit board installed or how to install a decoder.  There is a series of 6 pins on the board that looks like a decoder might plug into that; there is also seven points along the side of the board numbered 8 -1 - 2- 4- 5- 6 - 7 that looks like a decoder could be soldered there.  Any information would be helpful.  Thanks.

Look here -

It's not the Mountain but the number code is the same on the boards. The same jumper clips are used on all the new loco's.

Another reference to a loco that uses this wiring scheme -
