Title: WBB Reverse Board Mounting Bracket???
Post by: Seaboard Air Line Fan on January 23, 2012, 02:35:10 PM
Is the "L-Shaped" mounting bracket just a bracket or does it also serve as a path for electricity?  Does it need to be isolated from the board if not used as an electrical path?

The L shaped mounting bracket is just a bracket, and should be insulated. The circuit board gets its power from the center rail pick-up and the wire going to the frame, otherwise there could be a short or open circuit if it got power from the bracket in any way.

Thanks Lee!  I think it's isolated, but I'll go back and put a meter on it to make sure.

Another thing to do is use a plastic nut and bolt, if you can find one that small.
