Title: dcc vs dc
Post by: yarbnek on August 26, 2014, 10:14:51 AM
I am brand new to the hobby.  Have seen engines for sale marked "analog".  Am not sure if any new set I purchase will be DCC.  Have one set and it does not state analog or DCC.  It is NIB Yard Boss but could be older.  Also, will all Bachmann N gauge rolling stock (non locos) fit on the e-z trac systems.

Want to add that I intend to use Bachmann trains only.  Also to clarify, when buying a set, will it state DCC?

There is only one Bachmann N scale train set with DCC:
Golden SpikeĀ® with Digital Control
This digitally controlled train set features:
DCC-equipped EMD NW-2 locomotive with operating headlight
DCC-equipped GP7 locomotive with operating headlight

The set you have is not DCC and Bachmann has not made any N scale DCC sets prior to the aforementioned set. So if your set is not the set mentioned above it is not DCC and does not include any DCC equipped locomotives or a DCC controller/system.

A wide variety of N scale Bachmann locomotives are available with DCC including a few that even include sound. Bachmann's EZ-Command and Dynamis systems are also available.

Thanks ACY.  That helps a lot.  Looking forward to the new project.  Thanks again.
