HO / Re: painting and using ballast with E-Z track

I will take some pictures of it an post them within the next couple of days.  Since I'm on here mostly at work (3pm to 11pm) I don't have access at this moment.

I tried the 1000 ohm resistor on my programming track with the pr3 and it didn't make any difference.  I used JMRI and also tried the soundloader software on 3 different engines with bachmann decoders.  It would write to them but not read.   I'm going to change them out for digitrax decoders.

whm2255,

My whole layout is ns eztrack, and I'm in the process of ballasting it.  Once the ballast is on, it looks as good as any other track.  Putting ballast on ez track isn't any different than atlas.  With atlas track you have the cork road bed and the track.  With eztrack you have plastic roadbed and track.  I use woodland scenics ballast, that way I know its the right size, and scenic cement.  Turns out nice, just take your time.

robert,
Will the 1000 ohm resistor on the programming track also work with a pr3?
My pr3 will write cv's fine but has a hard time reading the bachmann decoders.

Thanks

I've caught it 2 or 3 times in the last couple of months.
