I use a mrc prodigy advance square 2 and it works fine. I also have a nce power cab starter control and it works fine with it. maybe Bachmann ez command doesn't work with digitrax chips. just a thought.

I put a dh165ip from digitrax  into my S4 CP and it runs beautifully.  I plan on using this decoder in other engines I own because of it size makes it easy for clearances.
 

I was able to find new connectors with wire for this engine from JST. after about 5 mins of work and soldering two connections the loco is running fine

due to clearance problems with any decoder with a wiring harness I used a digitrax  dh165 IP. granted its not a sound decoder but it will fit and run you units.  I am looking for a sound decoder that will fit my s4 some day

I would be glad to send you a photo but I am now traveling and all engines are at home. I bought a used 4-6-2 k4 . the contact wipers on a couple of the wheels is bent but it hasn't caused any problems running. hope this helps

I went to harbor freight and got their inexpensive digital caliper. I then measured each plastic wheel then got the same size metal wheel. quick and simple. it works for me

this question is for anyone who has this engine or the Bachmann guy.  I purchased this loco a couple weeks ago. I lubed it and while test running it , I keep hearing a clicking sound like those moving side bars or the counter balance they are connected too. could they be hitting the track or ?   has anyone else had to this problem. if so what was your cure.


Bachmann man, how long is the warranty on new engines?? 

I used a dh165IP in my S4. the next I am going to try to install sound.  the clearance between the shell and the frame is pretty tight so it take some work figuring which one to use

I am getting ready to replace all of my freight cars couplers from horn hooks to kadees. can anyone tell me the size and the thread count of the screws that are normally used on them. they are some from tyco, lifelike, and other manufactures. thanks
