yes, I do. went to nwsl website and the axles cost even more there. don't know if engine is worth the money. might scrap this one and buy a newer one.

yes I have this engine with same problem. my 44 ton was made 2005. and of course they don't make axles for it anymore. I did find out that nwsl or nswl makes a axles set for it but it cost 46.00+ on ebay. haven't decided if I want to pay that to fix this engine or work on another way to fix it.

General Discussion / bachmann ge 44 ton loco
February 17, 2017, 09:45:27 PM
I just purchased two sets of wheels for my ge 44 ton. it turns out they are, what is called third generation. they look like the stock wheels that used to come with the engine but these have a bronze color square block of metal on each side of the gear on the axle.

my question is: do these blocks locate next to the gear or close to the flange?
thanks

I am wondering if Bachmann is planning on bringing the On30 0-4-2 porter switcher out in HO scale. its a cute engine that would make a great addition to my layout.

I have a spectrum ho 0-6-0 switcher brand new. it says its dcc ready but when I opened it up to install a decoder there was no 8 pin receiver board. there is a pcb board there with numbers on it. am I to assume that even tho it says dcc ready that I will have to solder the decoder in permanently.   also I noticed Bachmann has exploded views of it trains for parts viewing, do they have manuals that tell a person how to open the engines up? took me 30 mins to figure out how to get the body off.  thanks

General Discussion / bachmann ge 70 ton loco

I just purchased a ge 70 ton loco  Bachmann item# 60604. it says dcc on board. is there anything I need to do to use it with my mrc prodigy A squared dcc controller other than put in a decoder. this unit will also be used on a dcc layout that uses nce dcc controller.
