General Discussion / railroad software help
May 04, 2011, 11:49:29 AM
im looking for a computer program that can tell you exactly what train will be arriving to your town engine and everything but i am aware that most railroads like to keep things like that a secret but where i live the norfolk southern ocs train comes through every once in a while and i would like to know when it will be in town : )

The 6th Annual Rochelle Railroad Days In Rochelle Illinois Is Comming June 3-5

The last i heard the Union pacific heritage locomotive "KATY"  locomotive will be there and Then Union Pacifics boy scouts of america 100th year celebration locomotive will be there also   as well as a possible 3rd locomotive   i dont know exactly what the other engine is at this exact moment

There was an execllent chance that the up railroad was going to run a steam excursion through there but that route didnt win the contest      : (  unfortunate     but there will be lots of activities  also         anyone willing to make the trip up there can find out more from the Rochelle Railroad park Website

I am new to this Dcc thing  it seems a bit complex with all the decoder wireing  and  seting up the controls and what not    so i am curious is there a decent wireless controler   that will have all the bells and whistles

i have a few old tyco cars   as we all know tyco wasn't  exactly the greatest material to have on a model railroad     but    i am planning to take the next step and see if i can modify these cars with kadee couplers and hopefully something else to make these cars look a tad better on my layout    im just tired of the nasty plastic look

does anyone know what i could do to make these cars meet the NMRA standards?

General Discussion / kadee coupler issues
February 16, 2011, 08:22:54 AM
i was running trains yesterday and realized a few of my couplers are a tad uneven   so when i reach the industrial part of my layout the couplers move downward and come loose is there a way to make the couplers stay high enough without useing a coupler height gauge
