General Discussion / Re: Bachmann EZ Track Dead Zones
January 10, 2011, 11:59:49 AM
MY thought is to never ever use sandpaper if you are trying to clean track it will leave scratches that will lead to later problems with your sons track my thought is to go to where ever your nearest hobby store is and buy a  walthers Bright Boy track eraser it is cheap easy to use  and it last a long time    i own one and it is amazing i bought it a year ago and it still hasnt worn off yet. :D

General Discussion / Re: couplers/hitches on ho stock

once you get the couplers that you are looking for you look to see if there are switches on your layout and if there is and you dont have level track then the little U shaped hook on the bottom of the coupler take some wire cutters and snip a little piece of them off because once in a while your couplers might begin to get caught in the frog on the switch or the rails that move.

General Discussion / dc locomotive question??
January 03, 2011, 06:52:31 PM
I just thought of something interesting   but i dont really know if this item exist     now if you run a dc powered layout but you buy a dcc locomotive is it possible to run that locomotive and get sound even though you dont have a dcc controller ?  or do they make engines that come with sound for a dc layout?

Hello,  I believe you may want a ho scale starter set if you like bigger trains i suggest getting o gauge   or lionel  or if you want really bigger than that g-scale is a really big train

Well,  sounds like you got your self one of those e-z track athern sets  i used to have one and had the same prob    what you might want to do is   if you know the piece of track that has the 2 small metal looking things on the side where you put the wire on    then make sure thats good and tight  then if that doesnt work   take your power pack to a local hobby place to have it checked  voltage wise  and if it fails i would suggest keeping the wire and buying yourself a better powerpack     if your new   it will be one used for dc which is standard for beginers     if your really high tech dcc is digital comand control   but dont get that until you master the dc controls : )

???                       when they come out with newer motors and u have old locomotives you can never really find the old motors they used to have   especially in newer condition i have been looking for the spectrum motor w/worm   and the flywheel is a whole lot different then the one they have now-a-days?    where are you supposed to get the older things?

General Discussion / Re: Derailing problem
December 29, 2010, 06:27:20 PM
If your layout is a layout that is permanent this might help:   when i had problems trying to get the train to quit derailing in various places i took hot solder and put it over the gap where the railconnecters are and then i sanded it with sandpaper so it was even and level   and also sand the inside to     it went twice as smooth and it never derailed since.
