Title: Freedom Train
Post by: FLYNAVY on January 29, 2009, 10:42:08 PM
Dear Gentlemen

Does anyone know anything about the Freedom Train?  I rememeber standing in line for hours with Grandpa to see the train in Columbus OHIO back in 76'.  The only thing I remember is that I was mad that I couldn't see inside the steam locomotive.

-A.  What happened to the REAL 'Freedom Train'?

-B. Does anyone know the combination of cars that made up the consist ?

-C. What was in the Freedom Train?

Very Respectfully
James S. Thomas

The 46 Freedom Train was made by Hallmark last year in their Lionel series.

The cars & PA1 came out in nearly Zscale. With a little work, you can swap trucks/couplers to run on Zscale track. We are waiting for MTL to release a SD40-2 to have a 6axle motor to power the PA. (the same motor may power an E unit sometime 2009-2010??)

Reading 2101 - a 4-8-4 T-1 class is now at the Baltimore & Ohio Museum in Baltimore, Maryland as AFT #1.   An HO model of this engine was made by Precision Craft a few years ago.
