Title: UP flat car
Post by: g-guage_trains on September 19, 2009, 03:16:19 PM
Hello, I have a black Union Pacific flat car, number UP 178910592, with metal wheel and Bachmann couplers. The stake pocket are solid (cannot put stake in it). Is it a new type or in a set?
Thanks, alanrr

Hello Loco Bill,
Well it look a Bachmann freight car. It has the same trucks, couplers and undercarriage with all the brake levers cast on. I can upload a photo to you, if you like.

There are a couple of manufacturers (BuddyL, Keystone, etc.) making clones of Bachmann Big Hauler cars. It is likely from one of those sets.

I believe that flat car is a Buddy L, as was suggested by altterrain. I've seen one identically equipped with a slightly different road number.

Agree with Craig & Brian,  there are lots of clones out there, it is more than likely a Buddy_L.   Buddy L also has other cars like the boxcar which is almost identical to Bachmann as well.

It is definitely not a Bachmann item, nothing like it even close in my database!

Thanks for all that answered my question. I will look in Buddy L.
