;D GREETINGS!! ???Now that you have clarified more your definition of a "metal frame", I'm not really sure that I have it! :-[ As I look behind the drive wheels, I see what looks like a metal frame. ;) It seems to me that what is metal and what may be plastic look so much alike that it is difficult to determine without actually taking the thing apart :P, which I choose not to do at this time! :)

;DGREETINGS!! I think the GENOA about which this discussion was begun has the metal frame. I know that it has a metal plate on the bottom with a space cut out through which the drive gear portrudes. ;) I'm not sure about the "thingie", but it does have a small rod coming out of the center dome and going down just in front of the front drive wheel on each side. ???
I do apologize that my camera is not working, so I can't provide the desired picture! Perhaps soon...!! :o
BTW, THANK YOU ALL for your helpful comments and thoughts concerning this engine. :D If I ever get my track up and running, I'll find out if it does, but until then, at least it's a great piece to look at!! ::)

;DGREETINGS!! Someone please tell me the approximate age/make of a POCHER 4-4-0 GENOA engine and tender ???. This one, you know, has the engine in the tender, with a "driveshaft". ;)

;DGREETINGS!! Well, I told you that my next post would be when I heard again from BACHMANN, so here it is!! They promised that by April 8, my engines should be repaired, and they arrived in the mail today! :o
The only problem is that they changed the roadname on one of the engines without calling me, but that's not a biggy.  ::)(That may have been the only roadname available in that engine at this time!)
      Now, I've got to find a caboose that goes with a C.B. &Q. R.R. ENGINE!! ;)
                                                                                        THANX!!

GREETINGS!! ;DHow about taking the sound module out of a toy train (gotten at GOODWILL) and mounting it in your mailbox?  :oThere is a switch mounted such that when it is opened, the whistle blows and the train that is mounted on top starts rolling!! ::)
This is all powered with a (solar charged) pair of AA batteries!! ;)
The mailman and everyone who has seen it really like it!! :D
                                                                                           THANX!!

;DGREETINGS!!Along with Bob, I would welcome you! ;)
Your post seems to elude that you repaired your engine yourself, thus did not send it back to BACHMANN. :P If this is correct, then we've narrowed down the problem; as long as you only have to order the parts, then repair it yourself, it's GREAT!! :o
       Is my understanding correct? ???
                                                                                    THANX!!

Incorrect English makes it difficult for me understand what people are trying to communicate .  I realize that English may not be the primary language for some people, but it is still is grating that people think it is too much trouble for them to write in logical sentences.  Try that at a Job Interview and see where it gets you.       Pax  !!!  John  II

;DGREETINGS!! ;)You see, this is a case where it might have been good for JOHN II to have read his post before he posted it, for it might be difficult for him to understand his own post!! :o "...difficult for me understand..." would be better understood with "to" between "me" and "understand"! ::)
Oh, well... just my "to" cents worth!! :-[

Now, exactly to what were you specifically referring?  :-\I seem to not see anything that may or may not be deemed in a "playing around" or not so "playing around" tone! ::)
     HELP!! :o

What do you know! We have a spell check feature built in and it was never turned on!

Seems to work fine, just click on the button at the bottom of the posting box before you click post.

Regards,

3rail

If only it was used.  Some of the posting on this board need a spell check, never mind trying to correct the grammar.

GREETINGS!! ;D"IF" only it WAS used???   IF only it WERE used!! :o

Oh, and btw, the last SMILEY in the example posted by JOSHUA was throwing a KISS!! Doesn't look like he was too ABUSED (perhaps AMUSED!!)!!

General Discussion / MR. B!!
March 12, 2009, 09:22:03 PM
;DGREETINGS!! ;) Mr. B, being in NEW YORK, how did you get to be a representative for BACHMANN, on the COMPUTER and at TRAIN SHOWS?
Are you paid for that priviledge, including but not limited to the hours that you spend delving through these sometimes silly, sometimes not so silly threads?
Do you ever go to BACHMANN INDUSTRIES, at home and/or abroad?
    JUST WONDERING!!
     What about the ADMINISTRATOR?

;DGREETINGS!! ???CAN A SMILEY EVER BE ABUSED? If ABUSED, it no longer is a SMILEY, but a FROWNY!! :o                                                    :'(
CAN THE USE OF A SMILEY EVER BE OVERDONE? :-\ Really, one would think that it would depend on who was cooking!! ;D
Since mine would be, surely, a prejudiced opinion :P, I will leave the judgment of this matter to those with more aptitude than myself!
:-*Perhaps Bob or Gene would at this time like to enter a comment?? ::)

;DGREETINGS!! ;)My appologies, Gene! I mistakingly thought it was future perfect, but the point is still made and, hopefully, understood.
:)While we are not all total masters of the English language, we can still be understood... usually.  ::)
In college, one of my English Instructors told me that I was "comma happy", in that I used one every chance that I got, whether it was necessary or not! ??? That's probably still true today,,,,, though that was SEVERAL days ago!! ;)

;DGREETINGS!! ;)You might also try going to a local "junk store" (Goodwill, Salvation Army', etc.) and visit their toy section.  :o
You might also find some electronic gizmo that makes a sound that you would like on your layout!! ::)
