Bachmann Service Department received my ailing 4-8-4 steam loco on June 23, 2009.
On July 24th, I received my replacement loco.

HOTRAINLOVER,

Thanks for the quick reply.  I'm guessing that your replacement is now a good runner.  How long did it take to get it back from Bachmann?  They told me five weeks turnaround.

Hotrainlover,

I just sent this same loco to Bachmann for repair or replacement also.
What replacement loco did you get from them?

Hey Bob,

Sounds to me like you need your trip to Caboose Hobbies a little early this month.

Hello Yampa Bob,

I didn't know you were retiring.

A bit off topic here, but I saw the neatest thing last Thursday.  While playing golf in Cuero, Texas, I saw what looked like a brand spanking new Union Pacific passenger train going thru.  What a sight it was.  I don't have a clue where it was coming from or where it was going.

Thanks Conrail Quality.

I will give it a shot.
Another modeler suggested O rings and another suggested replacement traction tires from HO scale locos.  Looks like I have some possibilities.

N / OLD EMD SOMETHING
October 07, 2008, 08:33:12 AM
Hello "N" scale modelers,

I have an old EMD ?? (Union Pacific).  I gave it to my daughter (really for me) about 40 years ago.  It was a set bought from Montgomery Ward.
The bottom of the engine reads:

Lonestar
Treble O Lectric
EL 62
British and Foreign Pat.

The rubber bands that make the engine move are shot.
My question is, are these rubber bands replaceable, and if so, where does a person find them ???

Any help will be much appreciated.

Hey Bob,

I'm not sure we can handle many more of your three day trips to Denver.

Thanks to all for the help and suggestions.  We have decided (I didn't get a vote) on the 34' Roundhouse cars (RND 84303) due out in May and got them ordered.  They should look good on my small layout.  I think anything longer may have looked out of place behind the 2-6-2 Rio Grande.  It's pretty small.  Now to start on the scenery.  I'll be back looking for more help and advice.

Thanks again,

Thanks again GG and SteamGene.

Now I just need to get the grand kids over here to do some on-line ordering.  The only LHS here (San Marcos, Texas) is Hobby Lobby and their selection is less than adequate.  Do either of you have a "favorite" manufacturer in mind?
