Hi, all! I'm new to the forum and new to trains, actually. Last Christmas, I bought my husband a complete (N scale, E-Z track) set. It's just a round track. I would like to get him some additional pieces of track this year for Christmas so he can make a figure-8. (No, he doesn't plan on doing much with this. It's just something he pulls out every few months to do with our boys.) Any advice? Thanks in advance.
Dear ixoye1122,
You will need at least a 26" x 52" table top.
This recipe is a just a bit off mathematically, but should work well.
1 ea. 60 degree crossing (with 4 ea. 1.125" straights--needed for recipe.) 44842
20 ea. 11.25"r x 30 degree curves (less the 12 you already have = 8 more needed.)
44801 pkg. of 6, or 44880 bulk
4 ea. 5" straight 44811 pkg. of 6, or 44881 bulk
Build: Short straight, straight, 10 curves, straight, short straight. Repeat. Crossing in the middle.
Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Joe Satnik
Just a heads up:
The short straights have to be trimmed along the edge of the road bed to fit next to each other on the crossing.
