Title: Williams Brass Caboose Questions
Post by: VaDave on August 09, 2010, 09:26:55 PM
Earlier this summer I purchased a used Williams Brass Pennsylvania #1101 Caboose with lights and smoke. Does anyone know what kind of smoke fluid to use in the smoke unit of this caboose? Also The some defector was missing from the stack. Does anyone know where I could  possibly find a new deflector? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there,

It is safe to say that you can use just about any company's smoke fluid (Lionel, MTH, LGB, et al)

I would not know where to find a replacement smoke deflector. Try E-Bay, or WBB parts dept. for starters.

I'm thinking Sluethe, for I think that is the company's smoke unit in the caboose.

Dave,

The deflectors are long gone, but they are easy to make with the correct size of brass tubing.  Our smoke fluid works fine, but be sure to turn it off when not in use. They had a small reservoir and would burn out easily.  Replacements of this size are no longer available.
