How does one go about measuring a particular curves' radius?

Connect for example 90, 180, or 360 degrees of track and measure the distance to the center of the circle from the midpoint of the track.

Dear Cam,
Do you mean an installed curve?
I'd use a string and a ruler.
Have fun!

Yes. It is for installed curves.  I read that some Locomotives that I was interested in purchasing recommend a minimum 19 inch radius.

You could also make some templates of various radii out of cardboard and compare them to the existing curves.
