Large / Annie 4-6-0 new gen pilot
July 08, 2018, 08:56:42 PM
I just lost the original pilot on my 4-6-0. The front wheel came off causing the pilot to short out and burnt the wires running from the pilot to the motor. I was able to order a new chassis but the pilots are listed as sold out. I was wondering if anyone new when they might be available again. Winter comes fast and like to run some more before my season is done.
Thanks

Large / Large Scale Bachmann Forney decoder
March 18, 2016, 10:38:09 PM
Hi all, I was wondering if any one has installed a QSI Titan Bachmann plug and play decoder in the outside frame 2-4-4 Forney. A month ago I talked with Josh at the QSI booth at the Amherst show and he mentioned I would need a specific model of the Bachmann decoder for it to work with the optical chuff sensor in the Forney. Just interested to see if anyone has had success / issues with this install.

Thanks

Large / Barry's Big Trains has shut its doors
April 03, 2012, 10:51:12 PM
I don't know if this was posted before but I just read on Garden Railways site that "Barry Olsen, the proprietor, is retiring after 20 years". I am happy for Barry (glad some folks still get to retire) but sad to hear this because I am an owner of a connie 2-8-0 that I was hoping to someday put one of Barry's drive systems in. Lately it seems the whole large scale community is falling apart.

Large / New to message board
July 22, 2010, 11:15:58 PM
Hi all, I just wanted to introduce my self. My name is Steve and I am in the process of building my outdoor garden railroad. I started Last year by pouring  four tons of concrete for road bed. This year I have brought in twenty yards of loam and will need about  thirty more. I have planted twenty-three dwarf Alberta Spruce trees, a pine and Japanese maple. Due to heat and money (lack of) I will probably take a break until late August to continue the build. I have a Bachmann Connie and a Bachmann Climax, both of which I love. I will be installing DCC in them over the winter in preparation for running next spring. Well that's about it, thanks for reading.
