Title: DCC and switches
Post by: Hrp319 on April 23, 2016, 03:46:36 PM
Hi
How can I use  standard ez trak left and right switch
Tracks  with Ez DCC controller.
Could these be converted into DCC switches

the easiest thing would be to run them off an old ac or dc power supply of about 12 volts. an old train set transformer will work just fine. dcc control of switches adds a lot of expense and complexity to the  operation of your layout that I personally don't feel is warranted.  aftermarket  stationary decoders are available by various manufacturers, but their use may tax the limited capabilities of an ez command.

The Bachmann E-Z Command Control Center can control Bachmann factory decoder equipped turnouts. However, the E-Z Command Control Center cannot be used with any currently available stationary decoder normally added to control analog or manual turnouts using DCC.
