Thanks for the response. After looking closely at it and the schematic I figured it out. I put the train phones on them this week. I will be adding more details but for now I'm doing a major change to my layout. Thanks again.

Hi All,

I just received 2 Standard Line RF-16 A units in the mail. I want to remove the shells for train phone installation and to install sound in one of the units. For those of you that have this type of loco do the 4 screws numbered 10367 on the schematic (under the inside edges of the trucks) hold the shell to the base of the loco?

HO / Bachmann RS-3

Hi Everyone,
I am looking to purchase a RS-3 to use at my club during operation nights. I currently have either steam or the type of early diesels that are A/B units, both of which are a pain to turn around to head in the opposite direction.

I have always liked the "RS" look but I have no experience with Bachmann diesels (just steamers). For those of you with one is it a good reliable puller?

Rich- I have no issues with you. Feel free to join in on any of my posts if you feel like it. After all we are all here to socialize and learn. Sorry if I sounded upset, it was not my intention. ;D

Rich,
Someone asked for the measurements and I was on my way here to re post them in case it was here, I couldn't remember who asked ???

I ran the Mogul for around 20 minutes tonight and was very happy with it at low speed. I believe it is a very good value for the price and I will probably get another after the first of the year. The chuff is first rate.

My son just called me to tell me the loco is at the house. Unfortunately I work until midnight today and tomorrow I work from 8 AM to 4 PM, so I won't get a chance to run it until tomorrow :'(

Actually we are both right. Yes the PRR did have this style of Mogul but they also had 103 of them with the Belpaire fire box. They were built  between 1902-1906 by Altoona and Baldwin as the F3c class. I was hoping for the distinctive firebox because that says PRR at a glance. :)

I was actually hoping for the Pennsy Mogul to have the Belpaire fire box. Bachmann did a great job of that on the Spectrum K4s but it is probably unrealistic for the cost we are paying for a single RR. I will take it and keep smiling ;D

I was the one that posted on Trains.com. I can't wait to get it ;D Bachmann seems to do a heck of a lot better than other manufacturers on getting their new equipment released.

HO / Bachmann Mogul 2-6-0 New Release
December 12, 2011, 07:52:57 PM
I saw the new 2-8-8-4 EM-1 last week and was really impressed. I have the 2-6-0 on pre order and can't seem to find any where that talks about when it is expected to be released. Does anyone have any info on this?
