Title: Brown Powder with Spectrum Locos
Post by: chaynes on January 28, 2010, 03:41:13 PM
Does anybody know what the little bag of brown-ish powder is for that is included with Spectrum Locomotives?

It should be more of a black powder. It is to add a little extra detail to your coal tender.

The powder is simulated coal cinders which would cover the tender deck in real life.

I saw a guy reply to this same question a while back by suggesting that one should rub the black powder on his face to make him look like a real railroader!!

Thanks for the feedback.  I was not sure what the powder was for.  Did not think about cinders.  I would have expected Bachmann to include a little more information in their paperwork that came with the engines.  As for rubbing it on your face, I've spent enough time working in a coal fired blacksmith shop, so I think I will pass.
