Title: Atlas undertable switch controllers
Post by: SteamGene on July 05, 2008, 08:15:42 AM
Anybody have any experience mounting the Atlas undertable swtich machine?  If so, what tricks did you find for easy installation?
What about the new, twice as expensive, undertable switch machine?  Know anything about it?

Gene.....

I used a few of the regular cheapie Atlas ones on my layout. I drilled a 1/2" hole under where the pin connects to the point bar and stuck em to the plywood with velcro. I found them very easy to install.

The expensive one has built in relay contacts to throw signals or another set of points.....the cheaper one is just a regular snap-switch machine with a different arm/pin.

Thanks.  Velcro sounds like a good idea, too. The more expensive one doesn't sound like a necessary buy.  BTW, I have managed to aquire six of the undertable machines, which is why I want to use them.  I think they were $6-7 for the lot.  So the price was right!
