Title: B&O Loco
Post by: Rickenbacker 325 on April 15, 2009, 10:40:19 PM
Can the 0-6-0 steam engine be changed to a 2-6-2. The road number is 338 W/ a slope tender and has smoke. And can it be changed to DCC.

P.S.  can I get knuckle couplers on the front of this loco?

Dear James,
You can add a a pilot and trailing truck, but DCC will be a challenge.
Have fun!

You MIGHT be able to get a pilot from Proto 2000 for their 0-6-0 which can be kitbashed to the Bachmann 0-6-0.  Might be easier to buy a Bachmann 2-6-2.

As far as the coupler is concerned, the Kadee 30 series couplers are very versital.  I've used them everyplace from the pilot of a Rivarossi 2-8-8-2 to a Proto 2000 caboose.  That's where I'd start.  Over the years I've called Kadee a few times for advice and they've always been more than helpful.
